Is Mike Mendes turning 'Bond 23' into an Oscar-friendly actor's showcase? The director of 'American Beauty' looks like it's lowering the franchise's signature stunts and action moments to give consideration to "characterful performances" from leading guy Difficulties. Since "characterful" isn't a word, we will accept rumor getting a sizable touch of suspicion. Affiliates take an opportunity that Craig added more "emotional depth" since he'll be rising against Oscar-winning actor Javier Bardem as his foe.
