How to get your voice noticed?

Hey, second question of the day. (:
So, I love singing and I'm not the worst, I have been in choir, but I
have never taken voice lessons. I sing everyday though.
I've been writing songs myself and have a couple finished already. I
also play a bit of guitar, but REALLY need to practice more if I want
to be good at it. (I've been singing more than playing guitar lately)
I have been working so hard, especially lately.
What I really want and need to know is how to get noticed!
How do I find an agency? How do I make a cd demo if I need to? Etc.?!
I really hate my town, that's mean, but I do. So I can't form a band
here or anything. I would be happy to enter competitions in other
cities or whatever. I just really need to be noticed, I know it's a
far fetched dream, but I have always wanted to sing for a living. That
would be the most wonderful thing EVER.
So please help me, anyone. Tell me what to do, give me website links,
something?
